The Interview with Ann Druyan and the questions:
- In an article you wrote for the Skeptical Inquirer in 2003 you use a lot of religious figures and metaphors and talk a lot about biblical stories. To what extend is religion important for your life and how do you see the connection between science and religion?
- What is your take on biogenetic sciences? From a religious point of view it would be wrong to clone for any reason but sciences think otherwise.
- There is a growing tendency of antagonism against science in our society. A particularly sad example is the Kansas vote for teaching intelligent design in science classes. What do you think is the appeal of these things that people think of as "new sciences"?
- Do you think that mankind will return to classic sciences or will we keep our distorted view on science?
- You see it as your personal responsibility to wake up mankind to return from pseudo-sciences to the real sciences, to research, discovery, and critical thinking. Do you think that you will be successful with this task or do you see people still believing in esoteric in the future?
- One more thing… This summer your project Cosmos 1 failed. The solar sail did not work right. Your biography and also a lot of pages in the web talk about the successor Cosmos2. Is there any detailed information already? Can you tell when it will be ready and when you will try the next launch?
- Have you taken special precautions to prevent another loss and what if you still loose it? Will there be a Cosmos 3? Or does this depend on the success of Cosmos 2?
